Energy Saving in the Hot Water Supply Systems of Buildings

Article Preview

Abstract:

The paper substantiates the use of the controlled electric drive of the circulating pumps in the hot-water supply systems of buildings. It considers the pump capacity control method as a function of the daily hot water consumption. The law of controlling motor speed with limitation of the minimum and maximum allowable water consumption has been proved. The schematic structure of the system controlling water consumption in the hot water supply circulation circuit is provided. Based on results of analysis of the daily water supply diagram both in case of controlled and uncontrolled consumption, the efficiency of the proposed method has been confirmed. Energy resource saving in the hot water supply system of the existing heating unit has been experimentally substantiated.
