Azerbaijan Hamam, the History and Restoration Specifics

Abstract:

The article deals with a research survey and restoration regarding hamams – traditional Azerbaijan pieces of architecture. Hamams are the bath facilities which came into existence in Azerbaijan everyday life starting from the medieval ages. The history of the hamam architecture and classification of hamams are described in this article. The role of hamams in the structure of the populated area development has been analyzed herein. An issue of restoration and construction of hamams has been also considered, as well as main problems relating to reconstruction and updating of these constructions have been analyzed.
