Some Numerical Simulations of Circulation in the East China Sea

Article Preview

Abstract:

By using the self-adaptive numerical model, 3-dimensional bar clinic Lagrangian circulation in the East China Sea (the Bohai Sea, Huanghai Sea (Yellow Sea) and East China Sea) (ECS) in winter and summer is computed, the results reflect well the features of the circulation in the ECS. The conclusion that “the Huanghai Sea Warm Current in winter is the mixing water of the Tsushima Warm Current and the continental shelf water, it is not a direct branch of the Tsushima Warm Current” is inconsistent with the traditional viewpoint, but agrees well with the actual observations.
