SMS-2D Simulation Meandering River Flow and Scouring Depth – Laishe River in South Taiwan as an Example

Article Preview

Abstract:

Due to the narrow island, topography and climatic factors and steep river bed erosion affecting in Taiwan, Laishe River in Pingtung County for example in this study, flow field simulating river change in bend-shaped section by SMS-2D in order to calculate accelerating erosion in the main deep grooves caused by reflecting force due to construction of the revetment protection, further evaluate the project footings erosion failures, is to verify the correctness of erosion equation simulation in the flow field, thus, providing reliable information and references for hydraulic engineers.
