Abstract: Image stitching is a method to obtain high-resolution images through compositing several image elements using invariant pattern recognizing and matching between each image elements involved. This method can remove resolution restriction in digital microscopy imaging. This study aims to design automated stitching with adaptive focus mechanism to achieve high-quality final stitched image. We attach three-axis microscopic actuator into Olympus CX-21 light microscope. The actuator has been programmed to support image elements capture with adaptive focus ability to compensate focus plane changes due to unevenness object surface, inhomogeneous slide thickness and imperfection of preparation holder.
Testing results show automated moving stage has horizontal step resolution 0.198±0.001 μm/step with hysteresis 5.99±1.09 μm and vertical step resolution 0.197±0.004 μm/step with hysteresis 2.36±1.28 μm at maximum speed 3,675μm/sec in 16 sub-division microstep setting value. Automated moving stage has also linear response with R2=0.999. Adaptive focus testing show satisfied optimum objective height locking stability using identical factor ε=95% for every objective application below 100x. Adaptive focus success stabilizes Zopt for every image element to generate final stitched image with homogenous focus value.

Abstract: On this journal, modeling relation of rotor speed and rotor diameter toward yarn tension on take-off nozzle has been validated by theoretical approach and numeric computation. It shows that value of yarn tension is F=(1,4.10-13)Tt nR2 dR2 [cN]. Excessively high spinning tension always results in an intolerable increase in yarn breakage. This paper presents a comparative study of theoretical and reference-based experimental result for predicting the actual strength of open-end spinning system.

Abstract: The solar thermal cooling system is expected to replace the utilization of conventional cooling system, particularly the vapour compression system. This cooling system is power-efficient, refrigerant environmentally friendly and able to use the abundant potential of solar energy. Hence, the optimization of this cooling system is necessary in order to obtain the best performance. For that purpose, this study focus on the simulation phase of the solar thermal cooling system utilization in MRC FTUI building as well as the optimization of solar collector applying EnergyPlus and GenOpt software. The position and the tilt angle of solar collector set as parameter study to gain the best performance of solar collector to produce hot water, which will be used as energy source in the absorption chiller. Finally, the optimum position and the optimum tilt angle every month in a year were obtained from this study.

Abstract: Solar Thermal Cooling System with its absorption cycle is expected to replace the conventional air conditioning system with vapor compression cycle because it is more efficient in terms of cost and energy. However, due to the heat of the sun is not always stable, the system needs to be equipped with a backup energy source, one of which is CNG. In the Manufacturing Research Center building, the lack of facilities that support availability of CNG causes large operational cost. Therefore, optimization efforts with the aim to reduce operational cost are needed. Simulation and optimization performed with EnergyPlus and GenOpt. The conclusion is that the installation of 187.5 kW electric tankless water heater is able to reduce total operational cost by 34.65% compared to system that uses combination of solar thermal and CNG and 49.69% compared with system that uses only CNG.

Abstract: In this paper, an experiment of spike detection based mental task with ayes movement stimuli is reported. The approximation of ICA algorithm is required to eliminate artifacts and detect a pike of brain activity according to the given stimuli which are normal, closed, and blinking ayes. A comparison of ICA algorithms based Extended Fourth Order Blind Identification and Algorithm for Multiple Unknown Signal Extraction is tested. The quality of the extracted signals is measured through the value of the signal to interference ratio and signal to distortion ratio. The extracted results indicate that the best spike detection is achieved using AMUSE algorithm. Keywords : EEG , s pike , Independent Component Analysis (ICA).
