The Use of Information and Communication Technologies in Polish Enterprises in Years 2010-2014

Abstract:

The article presents statistical research results concerning the application of ICT in Polish enterprises in years 2010 – 2014. Particular attention was paid to the number of enterprises (according to size classes) which use computers and Internet access in their business activity. Moreover, the Author discusses the types of Internet connections which are most frequently applied in Polish enterprises including the percentage of mobile access. Furthermore, the paper presents the degree to which such services as EDI, e-government, cloud computing as well as ERP and CRM systems are used by Polish enterprises to exchange information outside and inside them. It also compares the number of enterprises which purchased information and telecommunication equipment and the height of those expenses. The study ends with the comparison of the use of ICT in Polish and EU enterprises.
