Cyclic Weathering of Wood - Polymer Composite Modified by a Fly Ash Admixture

Article Preview

Abstract:

The aim of this paper was to evaluate the influence of cyclic weathering degradation on strength properties of wood-polymer composite modified by varying amount of fly ash filler admixture. Test specimens prepared according to EN ISO 527 were cyclic exposed to moist environment and action of frost and increased temperature. After termination of degradation process, relevant characteristics were evaluated to optimize the amount of fly ash admixture and describe its function in the structure of the composite.
