Abstract: Focusing on the complexity and a large number of variable factors of earthworks, to simulate earthworks with discrete event system simulation method is very effective, on the basis of analyzing the current developed simulation software, GPSS World discrete event simulation system was used in the simulation; For the one-way path optimization in the Earthwork Load-and-Carry System, an optimization strategy was put forward and put into a series of recycling process including simulation, verification, modification, re-simulation and re-verification with the simulation system, to achieve the optimization of the simulation model. Finally, through the verification of simulation concrete example, the method is proved effective and feasible, and has a wide applicability and a strong guiding significance for actual projects.

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the flexural behavior of hybrid high performance RC beams with web openings (Hy-HPRWO) that are constructed by using circle steel tube, hybrid fibers and Garnet, Fly-ash. One regular RC beam with openings (HPRC) and four Hy-HPRWO specimens were manufactured and tested under monotonic loading. It was evaluated by flexural experiment of Hy-HPRWO through comparison of failure mode, load-deflection curves, ductility and ultimate load (Vu). Test results showed that the ultimate load of the Hy-FPSC3 specimens were approximately 5.82% better than that of the HPRC, in addition their ductility behavior was 68.1% better than the HPRC.

Abstract: To simulate water flow in unsaturated porous media, analytical and numerical solutions of infiltration models have revealed the hydraulic and mechanical properties of partially saturated soil, such as the soil-water retention curve, shear strength, and permeability functions. Seepage, which is related to both the rainfall intensity and the saturated soil permeability, is a problem for partially saturated soils. In this study, a simple stage model in developed to represent vadose zone infiltration under a constant intensity into a homogeneous soil with an ideal suction profile; in this model, the saturated permeability is less than the rainfall intensity. The typical trends of the matric suction profile in a vadose zone during a rainfall are calculated via analytical methods. The model predictions agree well with both a coupled code (this study) and open/commercial codes (UNSAT-H and SEEP/W) for several soil types.

Abstract: The aim of this paper is to test the possibility of terrestrial laser scanning use to analyze the stability of quarry walls. In recent years the laser scanners started being tested and used for the documentation of geological structures and various phenomena such as landslides, rock collapses and observation of their morphological changes. The subject of our research was a quarry wall in the open-pit mine Brestov, with a significant bench or block disintegration of the andesite massif and therefore, there is a risk of rock blocks crashing. Selected quarry wall was repeatedly measured in the autumn and spring season by a terrestrial laser scanner and movements of rock blocks were evaluated. The observation results show that on the selected quarry wall there were no major movements or block collapse detected and the wall is stable after the winter shutdown.

Abstract: The discontinuous deformation analysis for rock failure (DDARF) method is adopted to simulate the biaxial compression test under different lateral pressure conditions. Then this paper analyzes the impact of the lateral pressure on the specimen failure rules. The simulation results show that the lateral pressure has obvious inhibiting effect on the expansion of wing cracks, crack initiation stress, and specimen peak strength.Keywords: Multi-joint specimen; DDARF method; Lateral pressure; Biaxial compression test simulation

Abstract: The paper presents surveying and processing procedures used at a reconstruction of a circumferential jacket of a 13-storey building, as well as possibilities of numeric and graphic presentation of measurement results. The suitability of specific used procedures depends mainly on the dimensions of the building and its space zoning. Usually, the space polar method is commonly used for surveying of mediating parameters. Analytic processing is considered to be the most suitable method of evaluation of measured point deviations from the vertical plane, or from the plane in general position, mainly because of its smartness, rapidity and universality.

Abstract: Through building dynamic foundation configuration database based on the parametric design models, an efficient optimization design principle suitable for independent foundation design is put forward combining with the existing building structure design codes. Using the object oriented language VB to develop independent foundation optimization design programs, to realize reading in internal force calculation data of the upper structure from SATWE software, then the program searches automatically for the optimal solutions .The optimal design of practical projects illustrates the feasibility of the proposed optimal design method.

Abstract: In this article, to handle data exchange between different grid systems efficiently and accuracy, the accuracy of inverse distance weighted average method is researched by different searching radius and exponent parameter. The result is compared with other two interpolation methods, radial basis function interpolation and local triangular projection method. The result shows that the search radius and exponential parameter of inverse distance weighted average interpolation method have not significant influence on interpolation result when radius is large.
