Investigation into the Application Prospects of Energy Storage Technologies Proposed for West Inner Mongolia Power Grid

Article Preview

Abstract:

Rapid increasing of installation capacity in west Inner Mongolia in the past years, especially in wind, PV and other renewable energy has bring new problem, such as accommodation ability of power market, the security and stability issues of the gird, etc. The energy storage technique is given more attention recently and proposed to apply to effectively improve the power resources redistribution and the accommodation ability of the intermittent energy, such as wind and solar power. Analysis suggest that the efficient use of energy storage technologies can help to enhance the stability of West Inner Mongolia power grid, reduce system spinning reserve, and help to improve grid management and power dispatch as well. It is of momentous significance for the development of West Inner Mongolia power grid.
