Design of the Weighted Series Feeding Microstrip Antenna Array
Abstract:
The design of the amplitude spaced antenna array is relatively simple, but it has a relatively large drawback that its sidelobe is at a relatively high level. In this paper, we use a series network to feed the radiating elements of the array antenna to achieve the amplitude and phase control. Comparing with the ordinary feeding array, it effectively reduces the loss of electrical networks and improves the space utilization of the antenna. A planar microstrip patch array antenna using the series feeding and resonating at 35.75GHz is designed. The simulation result shows that this antenna array has a gain of 22dB, small sidelopes and stable performance.
