A Novel Approach for PC-Based Test and Measurement Applications Development with Autonomous Sensors

Article Preview

Abstract:

With technology advancement, more and more elements are integrated together. We briefly describe integrated sensors and summarize them into 4 generations, which are bare sensor, integrated analog sensor, integrated digital sensor and autonomous sensor. We propose an application-layer protocol named AgileSN to realize autonomous interchangeability and inter- operability, and made standard tools possible. We propose a novel autonomous sensor based PC test and measurement application development methodology and software tool, in which, a whole application is totally made up of autonomous entities, and the functionality is realized through soft- ware components and their links. We further give the Petri-Net model and a collision-free software bus design, and present an autonomous sensor based PC performance monitor application at last.
