Analysis of Petersen Coil Application in Electrical Distribution Networks

Article Preview

Abstract:

The purpose of this paper is to show the development of Petersen coil and compensated network in the high voltage power distribution networks of China. There were two correlative questions when the Petersen coil is used, one is to restrict the series resonance under normal conditions, and the other is to choose the grounded line correctly. The KD-XH Coil, which uses the servo-control adjustment, has high response speed (less than 5 milliseconds), continuously adjustable current output (from zero to rated value) and linear V-A characteristic, and shows high accuracy in applications as soon as the grounding fault occurs.
