Researching the Education Facilities Planning of Central County Cities in Northwest China — a Case of Chengcheng, Shaanxi Province

Abstract:

In Mainland China, especially in Northwest China, the central county cities are the basic units that directly and closely connect all other rural areas. Therefore, the education facilities, which serves to improve residents’ quality of life in these cities, serve not only local residents but also people living in other towns and within the counties administration boundary. This paper takes Chengcheng in Shaanxi province as an example and starts with analyzing existing problems in education facility planning and implementation in central county cities. Based on the investigation of status quo of education facilities for primary and secondary schools and comparing with present index system of education facilities planning, this paper tends to explore a methods suitable for education facilities planning and also a feasible strategy for its implementation.
