Modeling and Control of a Flexible Input Boost Chopper Linked to AC Drive System

Article Preview

Abstract:

In order to assure the inverter could operate either from rectifier utility power or battery packs to provide regulated sinusoidal power for ac motor, a boost chopper with flexible input voltages and constant output voltage usually used to offer the link dc voltage to ac drive system. In this paper, the objective is to propose a new control scheme to assure the boost chopper has good dynamic performance under the disturbance of input voltage and load. The mathematic model of the boost chopper based on PWM three-terminal switch device is discussed. The test results show that the proposed control system has robust performance with whether the disturbance of input voltage or loads.
