Simulation Based Optimization of Overhang Dimensions with Architectural Materials

Article Preview

Abstract:

To determine the optimal overhang dimension, a typical building was modeled and its energy consumption was calculated by the conventional method which based on the formula of overhang coefficient and the simulation with software DeST-h, respectively. Results shows that the simulation method by DeST-h software provides more accurate shading dimensions compared to the conventional one.
