Article Preview

Abstract:

The building industry is known to have consumed a large portion of resources. Though the Chinese government has tried various initiatives to make it green, local developers are lagging behind. The major barrier is the perceived huge front-up cost. In this article, the authors explored the green transformation of Vanke, the largest real estate company in China, to see how to make the green strategy succeed. The authors argued that cost of green strategy is not so huge; the associated benefits with green can covered the increase cost if proper practices are adopted.
