Application of Dual Frequency IP Method in Southern Peru Copper Deposit Exploration
Abstract:
By analyzing geological background and landscape feature, and comparing with other geophysical methods, Dual Frequency Induced Polarization (DFIP) method is considered to be the most suitable for the copper deposit rapid exploration in the special landscape area of southern Peru. The conclusion has been proved by two examples of DFIP method survey, one is Cercana-Don Jovier exploration area in the Andes, and another is Rosemary exploration area in the coastal desert area. For giving full play the technical superiority and equipment advantages of DFIP method, some field survey techniques methods which include working frequency, array type, power supply system, measurement system and ways of overcoming interference, are discussed to take fully technical superiority and equipment advantages.
