Effects of Calcination upon Properties of Needle-Cokes

Abstract:

The effects of calcination on preparation of needle coke were studitied.The relationship between structureand and property of needle coke that was prepared under calcination were characterized by SEM,XRD and FT-IR analysis.The results indicated that the effect of calcination on the preparation of needle coke was positive．The higher temperature of caclineing and the longer time of caclineing，the better the ordered degree of needle coke and its fibrous texture. The incomeing of N2 can increase the ordered degree. FeCl3 which was a sublimate material was prejudiced to the graphitization of the needle coke. Through the observation of microstructure,we could find that there were some sample particles existing surface,thinking the particles were Fe ions,which was unhelpful for the preparation of needle coke.
