Multi-Criterion Decision Making for Build Direction in Layered Manufacturing

Article Preview

Abstract:

Abstract: Based on analyzing the influences of build direction on stair-stepping effect, supporting structure, efficiency, and deformation, etc., analytical hierarchical process (AHP) is introduced to make decision for build direction in layered manufacturing. The applications to optimizing the build direction of a computer mouse during prototyping show that the proposed method increases the rationality during decision making and improves quality and efficiency for the prototyping part.
