Research on the Equivalent Mechanical Parameters for the Honeycomb Core Based on the Y Element

Article Preview

Abstract:

There are several models proposed by researchers that try to explain the equivalent mechanical parameters Ex, Ey, Gxy for the honeycomb core, but every method has different assumptions about deformation in equivalent mechanical parameters, they are not built on the same model and have some problems. This paper presented a new equivalent Y model firstly which considers the axial deformation and obtained the conclusion that regular hexagon honeycomb core has the properties of isotropy. This research successfully resolves the problems which existed in other models. It is giving the theoretical base for the analysis of the honeycomb structure.
