Research on Manufacturing Engineering Change Implementation Planning

Abstract:

Engineering change (EC) is one the most important and complex issue in the manufacturing industries. The production schedule is always affected by ECs. To reduce the EC cost as well as its impact on production schedule, this paper presents EC implementation planning method. Three types of EC implementation planning is proposed according to the result of comparing the exhausting time point of the old materials with the arrival time of the new materials.
