A Study on the Architectural Aharacteristic of Nanyue Temple under the Influence of Different Cultures

Abstract:

The study explores the architectural characteristics of the Nanyue Tmeple in three aspects: The influence of religions culture, culture of sacrifice and folklore, and Chinese traditional philosophy of nature. The results show that the architectural characteristics of the temple can be summarized as the followings- Samgharama principle used in the site planning; open space inside and close outside; architectural details and materials adopted from vernacular architecture.
