Optimization Facility Mixed Layout Based on “田” Fractal Theory

Article Preview

Abstract:

Considering the problems such as the difficulty to express layout type, build and solve model that are existing in facility mixed layout, this paper proposed a “田” fractal theory which imitates Chinese character “田” and sequentially builds “田” type layout according to logistic volume between facilities (units). A mathematic model with the objective to minimize the logistic free and the occupied area of the layout was presented considering about several “田” types that may occur. Practical test shows that “田” fractal theory can optimize facility mixed layout problem wholly and partially at the same time and provide a new research point for facility mixed layout of modern manufacturing industry.
