Simulation of Bungee Jumping System and Open Experiment Teaching Using Simulink

Article Preview

Abstract:

Nowadays bungee jumping is a popular extreme sport. Bungee jumping can be simulated with a continuous Simulink model. Exact measurements and calculations can be done to keep the jumper from striking the ground and to avoid other accidents. The Simulink model of bungee jumping system is built and its safety is analyzed. In this paper, an open experiment platform which has flexible selection of time, contents and evaluation methods is introduced to improve students’ ability of practice and innovation.
