Experimental Study on Hardness of Titanium Alloy Ti-1023 by Milling

Article Preview

Abstract:

The titanium alloy Ti-1023 is widely used in aerospace industry, because of its low density, high strength, good corrosion resistance, etc. the integrity of the parts’ milling surfaces is of critical importance for aerospace industry. This paper aims to study the influence of the cutting speed and tool flank wear on hardness and hardening depth. The result shows that hardness and hardening depth have a significant effect on the cutting speed and the increasing of tool flank wear.
