Spherical Image for 3D Mesh Model: Generation and Acceleration

Article Preview

Abstract:

In order to render 3D virtual environment more realistically, one often needs to generate spherical image model real-timely. In this article, schemes to accelerate the process are proposed, in which two aspects of efforts, visibility detection and multi-resolution technique, are involved. Experimental results are also included to validate the algorithm, which exhibits that using visibility detection in conjunction with multi-resolution technique can significantly reduce the amount of computation and hence accelerate the generation process.
