Hydrodynamic Responses Analysis for Tension Leg

Article Preview

Abstract:

It is very important to do hydrodynamic analysis for TLP in its basic design process. This thesis studied the hydrodynamic behavior of a traditional TLP. DNV/SESAM software was used to do the modeling and calculating work. Totally three models were built, including panel model, mass model and structure model. Response Amplitude Operator (RAO) was calculated, and the combinations of wave directions and wave periods, which would affect the platform to the most degree, were obtained by analysis. Short-term statistics were analyzed with coupled analysis method to give out the extreme values of motions in a short period. And thus the platform motion and load conditions in this period could be predicted. The results show that this TLP has a reasonable global performance and meets the requirement of production.
