Stress Analysis and Overwintering Safety Evaluation of 15×104m3 Steel Crude Oil Tank in Severe Cold Area

Article Preview

Abstract:

In order to guarantee the overwintering safety of 15×104m3 steel crude oil tank, tank structure and material properties were analyzed. A three-dimensional finite element model of the large non-anchoring oil tank was established. Based on the stress analysis, the stress distribution in different environmental temperature and drastically changed temperature was founded. The result of stress analysis indicated that the structure of the tank is safe enough to endure the conditions of winter temperature in Daqing at overwintering stage.
