The Application of Form Symbols in Furniture Design

Abstract:

The furniture form design was studied with semiotics method. Combining with design examples, the content of form symbol in furniture was the first key of the whole study. Then, the discussion about application of form symbols in furniture design was carried on to make sure that furniture design can better meet the consumers needs of using function, symbolic value, personalization and aesthetic demand. It provided guidance for the development of furniture design.
