Corrosion Behavior of Steel Structure Residences under Atmospheric Condition in Dujiangyan - A Year Experimental Summary

Abstract:

This study analyzed the corrosion behavior of construction materials which were used for steel structure residences in Dujiangyan City, Sichuan Province, under atmospheric condition. Particularly, by using thermohygrometers in different test sites, the effects of local environment on corrosion behavior of experimental materials have been studied. Meanwhile, the study also measured the corrosion rate as well as identified the composition of corrosion products .These findings could help local municipal authorities as well as the community in making a sound management on discarded construction materials in the future.
