Abstract:

Shanxi Region is one of the places with most imitated wooden structure tombs of Song and Jin dynasties discovered. These tombs represent the architecture technique level of north China of that period to some extend and have a high research value of architectural history. Due to the reasons in geographical conditions, history and national traditions, the tombs in different places have some regional differences, reflected in not only the tomb shape and structure but also in the material, method and theme of tomb chamber decoration. This paper, dividing Shanxi into four regions, is focused on analysis of shape, wall brick decoration methods and themes of imitated wooden structure tombs of Jin Dynasty, so as to further understand the inheritance and development of Chinas traditional architectures.
