The Influence of Cushion Material on the Pressure Distribution Based on the Young Female Sitting Posture

Article Preview

Abstract:

It is well known that there is the pressure between the human body and the clothing, seat and mattress etc. The pressure on the human body may be too much and irrational distribution. It will result in some physiological problems such as blood circulation obstacle, carotid sinus syndrome, muscular soreness, vertebra shift, and et al. It is important for improving the pressure distribution of buttocks to develop the cushion. In this paper, the BIOFORCEN pressure distribution test system was used to measure the cushion pressure distribution. The young females of 21-26 years old were seated on the cushion by the two sitting postures. The one has a supporting point in the buttocks and the other has two supporting points in the buttocks and back. A series of parameters and index were extracted from the experimental data. The cushion material on the pressure distribution was also discussed in this paper.
