Abstract:

The Safety City of the Internet of Things (SCIOT) is a kind of multi-level, multi-service, polymorphic and multi-mechanism complex system of systems. The SCIOT system is so complex that the risk of system development is high. Thus, it is necessary to take measures to reduce the risk. This paper proposed a Rapid Interactive top-level Design & Demonstration Environment (RID2E) for the risk reducing of this kind of complex system of systems. RID2E adopts a feedback-based top-level design method which divided the design process into six sub-processes consisting of top-level design, rapid prototype development, system integration test, system simulation & emulation, visualization demonstration and sequential feedback. RID2E provided a platform that can achieve cooperative top-level design, full dimensions simulation &emulation, interactive demonstration, systematization display and sequential feedback for SCIOT system. As a typical design process, an emergency command and control system was constructed quickly and effectively based on the RID2E and it proves the method is feasible.
