Abstract:

The aim of this paper is architectural refurbishment of panel houses in terms of current requirements for living. Gradual evolution of technical standards and life style changes in recent years has resulted in inadequate layouts and outdated structures as external walls, roofs, openings and building services. Our prefabs have no other choice due to service life of structures related to safe operation. They need static system disorders removal, building envelope thermal insulation, openings replacing, heating and plumbing system updating according to required energy efficiency and economically efficient operation, hygiene and comfort housing. The paper analyses layouts of various systems and their possible modifications in order to meet current construction and technical requirements and demands for comfort living. The contribution presents alternative layouts and structural designs of selected panel houses.
