The Material Properties of Different Zones of Joints Welded Using a Laser

Article Preview

Abstract:

In the article the tests results of material properties of different zones of joints welded using a laser were presented. Measurements of hardness distributions and microstructure tests were performed, and the characteristics of fracture toughness and material strength were determined as well. On the basis of the obtained results, it was stated that the welded material and heat-affected zone have a generally higher level of material properties than the base material.
