Simulation Study on State of Charge of Battery for Electric Vehicle

Abstract:

The accurate estimation for state of charge (SOC) of battery is an important basis on the charging and discharging control and power optimization management of battery for electric vehicle, it affects life of the battery and the dynamic performance of vehicle directly, but the SOC of battery can not be measured directly, in order to obtain SOC of battery. A simple way of SOC calculation is proposed. Ampere time algorithm is taken as the foundation of SOC estimation and other factors affecting capacity of battery are compensated. Simulation on calculation method of SOC of battery is conducted using Matlab/Simulinks; Simulation results show that the calculation method SOC of battery is feasible.
