Abstract:

Through the analysis and improvement of the current LOD methods, this article proposed simplification framework based on geometric layer, motion layer, behavior layer, facilitated users establish virtual character behavior models through the framework while achieving three levels of LOD simplification in the virtual environment. Experiments show that rendering speed can be improved while retaining the main features of the character motion through LOD technology using multiple levels of details to represent motion characters in the virtual scene. Supposing the frame frequency is constant, this method is effective to improve the number of characters in the virtual environment.
