Outer Characteristics Simulation and Performance Analysis of Motorcycle’s Rear Shock Absorber
Abstract:
Motorcycle’s rear shock absorber has been built as a nonlinear mathematical model to analyze the shock absorber damping force characteristic. The model has been divided into various subsystems that including hydrodynamics flow model, friction model, elastic deformation model, and gas pressure model. It has been implemented in MATLAB/Simulink environment, and validated against experimental test data. The results show that the model is sufficiently accurate, the practical behavior of the shock absorber can be reproduced. The relationship between the valve system parameters and shock absorber outer characteristics has also been analyzed. Furthermore, the influence of valve system parameters is analyzed to provide some theoretical basis for the motorcycle shock absorber performance optimization and structure improvement.
