Study on the Impact Factors of Microbial Oil Displacement Efficiency

Article Preview

Abstract:

In order to quantify the microbial oil displacement efficiency, a group of petroleum-degrading bacteria were obtained from the sludge samples. Three strains of them with maximum degradation performance were tested to determine how the concentration of bacteria and nutrition affect the oil displacement efficiency. The volume of oil displaced by different strain was measured to find the rules of oil displacement efficiency change with time. From a practical point of view, the research found that there exist an optimum value between the oil displacement efficiency and concentration of bacteria and nutrient, which was related to crude oil price and cost of biological agents.
