Study of Grinding Method of Twist Drills

Abstract:

Twist drill is one of the typical cutting tools, usually used inner conical grinding method to trim and dress .it is presented a method of sharpening twist drills in exterior cone surface grinding wheel. A novel sharpening device of linkage-gear compound mechanism is designed. This device can overcome some limitations that can not grind small-diameter drills in the interior cone surface, hence improves the grinding range and grinding quality.
