Plastification of Сarbon-Filled Polyetherimide

Article Preview

Abstract:

The article presents the results of the study of the possibility of plasticization of carbon-filled polyetherimide (PEI). Oligophenylene sulfone (OPSU) and polycarbonate (PC) were used as plasticizing agents. It is shown that OPSU and PC have a rather effective plasticizing effect during processing. Moreover, their introduction improves the elastic-strength properties of carbon fibres-filled PEI. It is revealed that composites with OPSU have a higher heat resistance and thermal oxidative stability of the melt. Samples of carbon-filled PEI containing plasticizer, printed by FDM, showed high elastic properties.
