Texture Control in Silver

Article Preview

Abstract:

The influence of the oxygen-content, the rolling method, the annealing method and the annealing temperature on the texture in silver have been studied. The results show that low oxygen-content in original material, annealing at a temperature higher than 700ı and annealing in an atmosphere such as inert gas, air or pure oxygen are beneficial to obtain the {110}<110> component. Textured Ag substrate in which the main components is {110}<110> has been obtained. The mechanism of texture-forming is studied using electron back-scattered diffraction (EBSD) method.
