This paper presents some researches on the intergranular attack and SCC behavior after adding Er into the Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloy, which aims to improve the corrosion behavior of the Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloy, especially the SCC behavior. 2 Experimental and Materials 2.1 The preparation of the testing alloy.
The composition mass percent of the experimental alloys are presented in table 1.
It can be see from the pictures that the four alloys have different intergranular attacks.
When Er enters the γ-Al2O3, Er-Al compound oxide film will be formed, which prevents the ionization of the alloy.
