Analysis on the Capacity of Old Highway Bridge Yaxun Yang1,a, Weishan Wang2,b and Chao Qiao1,c 1Key Laboratory for Old Bridge Detection and Reinforcement Technology of Ministry of Transportation, Chang’an University, Xi’an 710064, Shaanxi, China 2Xi'an Highway Research Institute, Xi’an 710064, Shaanxi, China ayyxgy@qq.com, b634173002@qq.com, c525152811@qq.com Keywords: bridge engineering; bearing capacity; assessment method; normal use limit state Abstract.
Identification of Bearing Capacity We adopted the Midas Civil 2010 spatial modeling technique to build a side beam and middle beam space model to simulate the actual loading and amend the calculation model by introducing the material and cross-section parameters reduction factor.
Seen from the engineering project cases, we must take the current state into account and make amendment combining the test results in order to draw more scientific conclusions when evaluating of the bearing capacity of old highway bridges in mountain areas.
