Asbestos in various building materials were measured by spectral sensor to examine the shift in reflectance wavelength according to asbestos concentration in different materials.
Experimental methods Asbestos contacting materials were prepared to obtain the standard properties of chrysotile in various building materials.
Most chrysotile in building materials showed the highest peak at around 650 nm rather than 790~ 800 nm in other materials.
Further studies will be conducted to compare the results of asbestos free building materials to confirm the peaks from other elements in building materials.
