The influencing factors of coating and PC materials' stripping were analyzed.
Plating layers on all the corners and edges of the screw tip were desquamated, and large areas of degraded materials were presented on the sharp top and at right angles of channel of the screw.
Coatings on the screw's body were intact and no degradable materials were deposited.
Screw head's coating performed well, and there were intact layers and no degradable materials on the entire screw.

Due to the fact that friction stir processing (FSP) is an ecological and efficient technique, it is a real progress in the field of surface engineering.
Friction stir processing (FSP) is a leading technique in the field of surface engineering, the use of which is investigated by researchers in the fields of metallurgy and industrial priority areas (e.g. automotive, aeronautics, shipbuilding, etc.), with the purpose of local modification on delimited areas, of the surface properties of different materials and aluminum alloys in particular.
At the bending test of the samples taken from the base material and from the processed materials (Fig. 5b), it was found that base material broke at a small bending angle (46°-specific value of the cast materials) and the processed materials at a bending angle of 74°.
Conclusions · Friction stir processing is a current process of surface machining, which can make significant contributions in the field of surface engineering.
