Keywords: Nickel-based superalloy Inconel 718; High-speed milling; Cutting temperature
Abstract: The method to measure the cutting speed when high speed milling nickel alloy Inconel 718 based on semi-artificial thermocouple.
While tthe S3N4 ceramic tool still keeps a relatively high hardness in 1200 °C.
So, milling speed must exceed 600m/min when ceramic tool can play better cutting performance.
