Preface
The fields of mechatronics and robotics engineering have witnessed enormous
progress in recent years.
Unprecedented advances in computing hardware and software, sensor and actuator technology, and science of controls, signal processing, artificial intelligence, and computing have spurred the rapid growth of the applications of mechatronic and robotic systems.
Application areas of these technologies span from advanced manufacturing systems in the automotive and microelectronic industries to the emerging fields of medical and personal care.
The 2013 International Conference on Mechatronics, Robotics and Automation (ICMRA 2013) was successfully taken place in Guangzhou, China, June 13-14, 2013 and started as a conference initiative to be a forum mainly for the Asia-Pacific community working in this field in order to facilitate aggregation and sharing interests and results for a better collaboration and activity visibility.
