Low infrared emissivity coatings are widely used in civil and military applications such as heat loss control in industry or camouflaging military equipments [2].
The technological developments in low infrared emissivity coatings for engineering requirements imply the necessity of reliable lifetime prediction procedures.
This increase of emissivity during the damp heating may lead to a dangerous pressure buildup in civil or military applications.
The current work provides new prospects in using low infrared emissivity coatings for engineering applications.
