Silicon-Germanium (SiGe) single crystal is a fully miscible solid solution with
diamond-base, and has attracted keen interest as material for applications such as microelectronic
and optoelectronic devices.
The applications for SiGe single crystal according to the distinct advantages over pure Silicon also include both intrinsic and extrinsic photo-detectors, solar cells, gamma detectors, low temperature thermo resistors, high temperature thermoelectric generators, high-performance discrete devices, X-ray focusing systems and substrate materials.

Resources are the material foundation of developing economy and improving people's livelihood as well as the fundamental sources of society production materials and people’s livelihoods.
It is expected that urban refuse mountain called as urban mine will be important material foundation of human survival and development with advancement of science and technology.
Besides, their raw materials are wastes produced by human production and life.
